Meet Duke of Tokyo, a Japanese-inspired karaoke bar that has captured the essence of Tokyo\u2019s vibrant karaoke culture and brought it to the heart of the Netherlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wessel, one of the inventive minds behind Duke of Tokyo, shared their inspiration for this unique concept. \u201cDuke of Tokyo is a Japanese karaoke bar inspired by Tokyo. We fell in love with the karaoke concept<\/a> in booths and produced a theme around it. We found Tokyo to be the most matched theme. Karaoke, of course, comes from Japan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concept of private karaoke booths<\/a> has long been a staple of Japanese entertainment culture. It provides an intimate space for friends and strangers alike to unleash their inner diva without the judgment of a crowded bar. Duke of Tokyo embraced this concept, setting the stage for an immersive karaoke experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Duke of Tokyo needed a reliable karaoke system for their private booths to bring their vision to life. In the early days, they partnered with a competitor, Karafun, in April 2018. However, the partnership came with its own set of challenges. Wessel recalled, \u201cIt wasn\u2019t easy to communicate with Karafun. It was listening to what they wanted. For example, we couldn\u2019t add extra Dutch songs<\/a>. We did not have that control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their journey to find the ideal solution led them to SUNVIG, whose Karaoke Experience Center beckoned with promises of innovation and unparalleled support. Has, another founder of Duke of Tokyo, shared their serendipitous encounter with SUNVIG: \u201cWe got a gold wrapper with an invitation to explore the Karaoke Experience Center of SUNVIG. So, we went to have a look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why did the Duke of Tokyo choose SUNVIG Karaoke?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The decision to switch to SUNVIG was driven by the unreasonable cost increase imposed by Karafun. Has stated, \u201cKarafun\u2019s cost was unreasonable. It makes no sense to raise prices five times. So that\u2019s how we ended up with SUNVIG. That was the perfect option in terms of hardware<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When asked if they would recommend SUNVIG to others, Has was enthusiastic in their response: \u201cYes! There are always things that can be improved, but you see that the functionalities that were not yet there are being developed to meet your wishes<\/a>. So yes, we would definitely recommend it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
